Abel Personnel, a well-established staffing and workforce solutions firm with over 55 years of success in Central PA, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable candidate with payroll and bookkeeping experience to join our internal team in Harrisburg, PA. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support biweekly payroll processing for 300+ employees
  • Help prepare and file payroll taxes and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple internal entities
  • Perform QuickBooks data entry, bank reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Assist with accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, and account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with the senior bookkeeper and administrative staff on special projects and reporting
  • Provide general administrative support as needed within the finance team
Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with ADP (or comparable) payroll systems processing payroll for large employee groups.  Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years.  
  • Understanding of payroll taxes, accounting principles, and general ledger management
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting multiple business operations
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Prior experience supporting internal administrative functions and cross-functional teams
