About the Opportunity
Abel Personnel is seeking a dedicated and highly capable Network Engineer & Infrastructure Specialist to support our client's critical infrastructure in Lancaster, PA.
We are looking for a professional who can perform without supervision and be counted on to maintain and resolve issues across multiple locations from Day 1. You will serve as the primary escalation point for advanced networking and infrastructure challenges, moving seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Ownership: Manage, maintain, and optimize a hybrid Azure/on-premise infrastructure supporting multiple regional sites.
- Network Mastery: Lead the full-stack management of firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
- Escalation Leadership: Act as the Tier III internal expert, independently resolving complex issues escalated from IT staff, MSPs, and external vendors.
- System Administration: Provide robust, hands-on support for Active Directory, IAM, Windows Server, Exchange, and virtualization platforms.
- Modern Data Integration: Coordinate with BI and DevOps teams to support and integrate Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and various data/reporting systems.
- Security & Performance: Lead lifecycle management, performance monitoring, and rigorous documentation to ensure strict network integrity and security compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on, dedicated network engineering experience is strictly required. (10 to 15 years is highly preferred for this level of autonomy).
- Location: Must be a current resident of Pennsylvania and able to commute daily to Lancaster, PA.
- Technical Depth: Proven, demonstrable expertise in Azure, hybrid cloud architectures, and traditional on-premise integrations.
- Core Networking: Deep, functional knowledge of enterprise firewalls, routers, switches, VLAN/VPN configuration, and traffic flow optimization.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across BI, DevOps, executive leadership, and external MSPs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Azure Administrator/Architect, Network+, or Security+.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
