Abel Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant for a part-time opportunity with a respected professional organization headquartered in downtown Harrisburg. This position is ideal for candidates with legal administrative, legal assistant, executive assistant, or office administration experience who are looking for a flexible schedule in a professional office environment.
Schedule
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Preferred schedule: 5 days per week, 4 hours per day
- Afternoon hours preferred, but morning schedules may be considered
- Flexible options available, including 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Candidates available for 3 full days per week may also be considered
- Temporary assignment expected to run through approximately the end of September 2026
Position Overview
The Legal Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the legal department, assisting with document preparation, file management, correspondence, scheduling, and other office support functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, edit, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain and organize electronic and paper filing systems
- Manage calendars, appointments, and scheduling needs
- Assist with records management and document retention
- Answer and route incoming phone calls and emails
- Support attorneys and legal staff with administrative projects
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Perform general clerical and office support duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous legal assistant, legal administrative assistant, paralegal support, executive assistant, or administrative assistant experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
