Location: Hybrid – Harrisburg, PA (Minimum 1 day/week onsite)
Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 (Commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (On-call rotation: 1 week every 6 weeks)
Role Overview
Abel Personnel is seeking a highly technical Senior UNIX Administrator to support a mission-driven educational assistance organization in Harrisburg. This is a high-impact, technical role focused on the architecture and management of complex UNIX and Kubernetes computing environments. You will work within a 5-person team, collaborating closely with developers and middleware teams to manage services in both physical data centers and AWS Cloud environments.
Technical Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Kubernetes (Critical): Strong implementation and management skills. Proficiency with Manifest files and Helm charts is required.
- Systems Administration: Expertise in creating, configuring, and managing Enterprise Linux/UNIX systems.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tooling; proficiency with Git for version control.
- Networking & Infrastructure: Understanding of load balancing, DNS, gateways, and firewalls. Experience with virtualization and storage technologies (IBM/EMC).
Compliance & Residency
- PA Residency: This position is open to Pennsylvania residents. (Border-state candidates may be considered with intent to relocate).
- Work Authorization: No visa sponsorship is available. Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
